Lupa and her road to recovery

Meet Lupa.  Her name means "wolf" in latin, and this husky mix sure does show signs of her beautiful ancestry.

We photographed Lu for our mini-session promo materials this past week, and it came at a poignant time.  She was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma, and her owner is determined to fight it!  Lupa has just finished going through her 3rd chemotherapy treatment and seems to be responding well, but she still has more treatments and time to go.  We are all rooting for you, Lu!

If you'd like to stay up-to-date on Lupa's progress, or donate to help pay for her treatments, visit their Sit. Stay. Heal. page.

Here's a little of Lu & her owner Kelly's story:

"Those of you who know Lu or know me are aware of how special she is. We have an incredible connection that began after I rescued her as an adult dog from Animal Rescue of the Rockies here in Colorado.

We quickly bonded, and are now inseparable! As a full-time photographer, I work from home and her presence is so important to me. We go on hikes, she comes on photo shoots, she lies at my feet while I edit photos, and she is the center of my life.

It seems that everywhere we go, people comment on Lu's spirit. She has this peaceful vibe about her that is impossible not to notice. I've watched her bring love and healing to many people who were sad and struggling. I've been approached by strangers who couldn't help but acknowledge how special she is. Aside from her remarkable beauty, she has a sweet soul and is easily the most loving dog I've ever known."

"As I want to enjoy this time with Lu and get her the treatment she needs to hopefully live a full life (she's only 6 years old!), I sincerely (with my WHOLE heart), appreciate any amount of money you're willing to donate for Lu.

Thank you all for your compassion. Care and Prayers for little Lu!"
